Quality Beyond Compare

Our laying hens reside in a mobile chicken tractor within a sprawling 10,000 sqft fenced area. Every 2-3 days, we relocate their coop and fenced space behind the cows to evenly disperse nutrients across the ground. Unlike typical vegetarian diets, our hens actively forage for worms and bugs throughout the day. They luxuriate in access to ample sunshine, shaded areas, and a diet comprising of fresh organic, and soy-free food sourced directly from a farm, complemented by an abundance of fresh water. These stringent standards were established for our family's enjoyment and are faithfully upheld for yours. Additionally, our commitment to pasture-raised eggs ensures not only exceptional quality but also reflects our dedication to sustainable and ethical farming practices.

Happy Hens, Healthy Eggs

Studies have unequivocally showcased the nutritional superiority of farm-fresh, pasture-raised eggs. A nutrient density test conducted at Joel Salatin’s Polyface Farm revealed astounding findings: compared to USDA standard eggs, pasture-raised eggs from this farm exhibited significantly higher levels of omega-3, vitamin E, vitamin A, beta carotene, and folate, while containing lower cholesterol and saturated fat content. We take care to preserve the eggs' natural protective bloom by refraining from washing them. This membrane serves as a safeguard, shielding the egg from oxygen and bacteria, thereby extending its shelf life, a feature notably absent in store-bought eggs.

Handling Tips for Fresher Eggs

Furthermore, we adopt a meticulous approach to egg storage, ensuring maximum freshness. By storing our eggs pointy side down, we effectively maintain their quality. The air cell, situated at the blunt end of the egg, acts as a protective barrier for the yolk, preventing bacterial contamination. Through this method, the air sac remains at the top, safeguarding the egg's freshness. Beyond the exceptional quality of our eggs, we prioritize the humane, ethical, and sustainable treatment of our chickens. From our verdant pastures to your plate, we eagerly anticipate the opportunity for you to savor and appreciate the Sweet Magnolia difference.
